flea market finding

Sometimes it is worth to get up early in the morning on a Sunday, when it is freezing cold and go to the flea market. Today I was very lucky and found a nice bouclé blazer. The classic bouclé blazer is for me a key piece in the wardrobe because it can be combined very versatile. Yet it is not enough for Coco, but I am working on it. This piece is going to the dry-cleaner next (what probably will be even more expensive than the blazer itself) and then it will be combined – classic wit Marlene-pants and white turtleneck or casual with jeans, t-shirt and pumps.

Für Frida – stylish vintage fashion

We recently found a beautiful online shop for vintage fashion. “Für Frida” (http://www.fuerfrida.com/) is relatively new. The shop was founded in March 2011 by the two female students Sonja Glas and Karin Miller. They choose the second-hand pieces for the shop carefully and look out for a high quality of the garments. They also use a rating system so that you know exactly in which state the article is.
The special feature: the two girls are also responsible for the conception and design of the shop and the photos are shot by themselves.

The selected pieces are truly unique and the best: also affordable!

Of course I made a small selection for you. Visit the shop and have a look. My favorite: The jeans.

Stylish and comfortable?

Yes this is possible! Chinos, blazers and cozy sweaters make it possible. I love chinos and wear them often – unlike many others – not with tight tops. I combine them with wide like garments. That’s just super comfortable and sometimes you just need that.

Granted, only wearing wide things adds some volume. But with a little trick you can show that the body under the clothes is not as wide :) Simply show a bit of skin in the right places. So I usually roll up the Chino a little high, so that the ankles and legs are to see. Even the roll up of Blazers on the arms or the use of tops with ¾ arms  clears the wide look.

To this outfits flat shoes perfectly match (also a convenient thing). Lace Up shoes or sneaker are the right choice.

I’ve browsed a bit and put together three examples of outfits. I think it’s especially nice when you not combine too many colors in your outfit. Here, strong contrasts can be created (eg black and white) but also closely spaced tones can be used (eg beige and cream colors).

So: It’s chill time;)

Labelwatch: UGG Australia

From time to time i find shoes from the label UGG Australia. The label became famous due to his typical ”UGGBoots”, which consist of suede outside and of fur inside. Because of the great features of the fur the feet stay warm even without socks. I think you know this typical dressless Modelphotos in the snow, where only thick fur boots were attract. The current collection does not consist only of fur boots and it makes fun to shopping. I once had to fit a couple of my favorites, together for the cold days:

Marni for H&M

Yes, and again something to look forward to and something worth to get in line in front of H&M. Marni is designing a H&M spring collection 2012. The collection is available from March 8th 2012 in 20 stores worldwide and also online. Find out more:

“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements”. Consuelo Castiglioni, Founder and Creative Director.

It sparkles, glitters and shines

Just in time for the festivities, it begins to sparkle and to glitter – on clothes, bags and Co. Sequins sparkle around the bet and are now also worn in XXL size, so that they look like fish scales. All colors are allowed.

Of course I had a look around and especially found beautiful things on asos. This time it’s been very difficult for me to put a selection … there are just too many beautiful things!

After much back and forth I managed it. :) My favorite pieces are the sequined shorts and the blazers.

Labelwatch: BRICS

The new Danish label named BRICS shows that simple is simply better. The three girls Elise Born, Ingrid Munch and Stephanie Gundelach show your pieces in clean lines, simple structures and bring the needed individuality. The name BRICS comes from the french word “Bricolage” and the core meaning in French being, “fiddle, tinker” and, by extension, “to make creative and resourceful use of whatever materials are at hand.

They only have coats in the shop so far but I’m sure there’s more coming, because in my opinion they meet the bull’s eye with the coats. The prices vary between 200 € and 300 €. A glance at the shop is always worthwhile. Incidentally, the three also run a fashion blog :).

Red, red, red are all my clothes…

I recently saw something new on the streets of Berlin. Now everyone is all dressed in red – from coat to shoes.

The monochromatic look is striking and the good news is: in the morning, you do not have to worry whether the colours of your garments actually match ;)

I collected the finest parts in red. So happy combining!

arte TV-Tip: “Paul Smith, Gentleman Designer”

Last night arte showed a 55-minute documentary about Paul Smith. Paul Smith, who has noticed the time of pop art and Bauhaus, show us how he works with his team and which various things gave him inspiration. He uses old books from the 18th century, fairs and street markets in London to find ideas and turn them into exciting new collections. His fashion moves between classic and Brit-style acts, but always something subtle. On 5 December is the repetition and the online channel shows the documentary  for  the next 7 days.

Insight Men’s Holiday 11′

The Australian label Insight released his “Men’s Holiday 11″ collection. The collection show influences from different eras. For example, from the sixties, seventies and the working class of the nineties. The prints on the shirts look a little like “Jimi Hendrix” or “The Who”. The colors will be more covered. Brown, greens and saturated red looks more like military than on Flower power:) The mixture of these, fit very well into our time and therefore I like the collection. We will keep you up to date and hope the pieces are available at Urban Outfitters soon.

25 ways to wear a scarf

Yes I admit it… I’m addicted to scarves. Slowly the excuses for my boyfriend, why a woman needs 20 different scarves and towels and waste so much space in the closet, are gone. But no matter how many scarves I have – I wear them only in two different ways. Today we found the following video and I’m really excited in how many ways you can wear a scarf. Have fun trying :)

Versace already out of stock?

The Versace colletion for H & M is in stores as of this morning. Whoever was able to grab a hold of an entry wrist band was allowed to get in store at 8:00 am all others will need to wait until 10:00 am. They are the unlucky ones as meanwhile only small and large sizes are available. Furthermore, as I was told, men were only able to go into the mens’ section. So whoever sent their partner to get hold of one of the Versace pieces had to deal with security staff. They namely took care of everything going according to plan and watching out for people trying to leave the shop with a Versace without paying. Well, women can be quite a terrorist :). I personally did not expect this kind of rush and I am curious how many people I see wearing Versace when I go out Friday night .
